Swim sessions can be broken down into swim intervals and rest intervals to ensure metrics accurately portray your activity. Swim intervals will be filled with one or more lengths of continuous swimming, while rest intervals will separate breaks from swimming activity.

If possible, utilize rest intervals on completion of a length, while at the side of the pool:

  • To create a rest interval on Forerunner 910XT, press Lap when stopping and again when resuming.
  • To create a rest interval on Garmin Swim, press Pause when stopping and again when resuming.

Utilizing intervals will improve accuracy with interval workout metrics within Garmin Connect.
