The initial release of Garmin Express 3.0 did not back up fitness data from devices that transmit via ANT onto the computer after uploading to Garmin Connect. Activities transferred to Garmin Connect through Garmin Express will now be stored on the computer locally. Locally stored data will only apply to new data successfully uploaded to Garmin Connect. If the data fails to load to Garmin Connect or if the data is duplicate data it will not be stored. Garmin Express will need to be updated to the latest version to bring in this functionality. To update Garmin Express manually:

Windows:

  1. Open Garmin Express
  2. Click on the Gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the application window
  3. Click on "Check for Application Updates" under About Garmin Express

If an update is available, wait for the download to finish and click Install Now.

Mac:

  1. Open Garmin Express
  2. Click on Garmin Express in the Menu bar
  3. Click on About Garmin Express
  4. In the new window, click Check for Application Updates

If an update is available, wait for the download to finish and click Install Now.

The fitness data will now be stored on the computer in these locations:

Windows Vista, 7, 8:

C:\ProgramData1\Garmin\GarminConnect\DeviceUnitID\Upload

Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data1\Garmin\GarminConnect\UnitID\Upload

Mac OS 10.7 and higher:

~user/Library2/Application Support/Garmin/GarminConnect/UnitID/Upload

Once updated, the fitness data will now be stored after a sucessful upload.

2Note: The user Library folder is hidden by default in Mac OS 10.7 and higher. To open the user Library folder:

  2. Click Go (at the top of the menu bar)
  3. Select Home
  4. Click Go (at the top of the menu bar)
  5. Click Go to Folder
