Garmin Express uses a background service to communicate with Garmin servers. If Garmin Express displays the error message “Unable to connect with Garmin services”, ensure that the service is running and has the ability to connect to the Internet.
Ensure the Internet connection meets the system requirements for Garmin Express. A high-speed Internet connection is required. Garmin Express is not intended to be used with mobile broadband (such as MiFi, AirCard, or cell phone tethering), satellite, fixed wireless, or dial-up Internet connections
Security programs can affect the communication between a computer and the Garmin servers. It may be necessary to disable any and all security programs to allow Garmin Express to communicate. Refer to the instructions provided by the application publisher to disable any security programs installed to the computer.

•Garmin Core Update Service is Not Started
The Garmin Core Update Service is required for Garmin Express to function. The computer or a program may have disabled this service from running. If the service is not running, it will need to be started manually:
On Mac OS X, the Garmin Express background service is simply called Garmin Express Service. When the Garmin Express Service is running, a black triangle is displayed in the menu bar at the top right-hand corner of the computer screen. If the black triangle is not present when Garmin Express is running, restart the computer.
Garmin Express should now be able to connect to Garmin services. If the issue persists, contact Garmin Product Support by phone.
