Setting up Smartphone Link Traffic

Live traffic information can be received through your compatible smartphone's data plan and can be sent instantaneously to your Garmin automotive navigator through the free Smartphone Link app. This information allows your Garmin device to display and help you avoid slow traffic due to accidents, construction, or other obstacles.

Installing Smartphone Link

First, it is necessary to verify your smartphone is compatible with Smartphone Link. For information on compatible mobile platforms and automotive devices, see the FAQ  Smartphone Link Compatibility and Availability.

Once you have confirmed that your phone and automotive device are able to communicate via Smartphone Link, the next step is to download the app to your phone. For steps, see the FAQ  Installing Garmin Smartphone Link.
