Troubleshooting the Garmin Dog Widget with a Compatible Watch and Pro 550 Plus
The Pro 550 Plus can transmit dog tracking information to compatible outdoor watches1.

Devices transmitting dog tracking information can transmit to multiple devices at a time. For example, the Pro 550 Plus can transmit to a fenix 3 and fenix 5 at the same time.
Troubleshooting Steps for the Dog Tracking Widget on a Watch
If the feature is not working properly with the any of the Broadcast mode compatible devices, use the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the problem.
- Ensure all devices are on latest software version.
- View Related Content at the bottom of the page for instructions.
- The transmitting device and receiving device must be within 15 feet of each other (closer is recommended for testing and troubleshooting).
- Ensure you are actively communicating with a compatible dog collar on the Pro 550 Plus.
- Ensure only the two devices that should be communicating are on (power off all other transmitting handhelds).
- The handheld device always has ANT+ broadcasting enabled.
- Power off then power back on the transmitting and receiving device to ensure they are no longer looking for any previously paired devices.
- Forget the previously paired handheld to ensure the watch is not looking for a different device.
- On the watch dog tracking widget:
- Press the Start/Stop button.
- Select Forget Transmitter.
- Give the widget a few minutes to detect the handheld.
- On the watch dog tracking widget:
- Power off then power back on the transmitting and receiving device to ensure they are no longer looking for any previously paired devices.
- If other compatible receiving devices are available, try transmitting to them to see if they will pick up the signal.
