Rename the VIRB X or XE Wi-Fi name

When pairing the VIRB X or XE with Wi-Fi to a compatible smartphone, it will show the device’s Wi-Fi name. The default name is usually VIRB and a four digit number.

To change the VIRB Camera Wi-Fi name:

1. Power on device  
2. Press and hold the Menu button.  
3. Select Wi-Fi    
4. Select Edit
5. Select SSID
6. Use the Arrow buttons and OK to select the new Wi-Fi name.

The entered name will now be what appears when trying to pair with the smartphone.

If you have multiple cameras to pair to the same Wi-Fi source, it may be difficult to differentiate one device from another. Changing the SSID can help better identify individual devices.
