Changing Power Zones in Garmin Connect

Power zones can be displayed as a set range of watts or calculated based on percentages of your Functional Threshold Power (% FTP). 

NOTE: Your Garmin Connect™ account will only allow zones 1- 6 to be customized. Anything greater than the zone 6 max value will automatically be considered zone 7. 

Choose your option below to change your power zones:

Garmin Connect App Instructions

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select the device name.

  5. Select User Settings, User Profile or My Stats.

  6. Select Heart Rate & Power Zones.

  7. Select Power.

  8. Select the Activity you are assigning Power Zones to such as: Cycling, Running, or XC Ski.

  9. Select the power zone you wish to change.

  10. Enter the low or high value for each zone.

  11. Save your changes and exit.

Changes will be sent to the device upon the next successful sync. 


Garmin Connect Web Instructions

NOTE: Devices compatible with Real Time Settings will not have all options in Garmin Connect web.

  1. From a web browser, sign into your Garmin Connect account.

  2. Select watch icon with blue dotin the top right corner.

  3. Select Device Settings under the desired device.

  4. Select User Settings.

  5. Scroll down to Power Zones.

  6. Enter the low or high value for each zone.

  7. Select Save Settings.

Changes will be sent to the device upon the next successful sync.
