Using a Headset with the Rino Series

The Rino series supports the usage of headsets that have a 2.5mm jack. There should also be two bands around the male jack that the headset uses. We recommend using our Ear Receiver with Push-to-talk Microphone to ensure compatibility. The Rino will automatically use a compatible headset when it is plugged in.

If you are having troubles with using the headset with a Rino, check the following:

• If using a PTT (Push to Talk) headset, you must press the PTT button after connecting the headset for it to be detected.
• Ensure the headset is firmly connected to the Rino. 
• Ensure that your Rino does not have a low amount of battery charge.
• Ensure the Rino software is up to date -  Installing the Latest Software Updates to Your Outdoor Handheld
• If your headset has a mute feature, ensure it is not muted.
• Try a different headset if possible.
