Why Is My Sleep Card or Data Missing From Last Night?

For your sleep data to appear in Garmin Connect, ensure the following:

  • Primary Wearable Sync: Your watch, set as your Primary Wearable Device in Garmin Connect , must successfully sync. Tap at the top of the Garmin Connect app's Home page to sync. Allow up to an hour after waking for the most accurate data.

  • Watch Worn During Sleep: The same watch must be worn while sleeping. If your watch has an Optical Heart Rate Sensor (OHR), it must be enabled.

  • Valid Birth Date: A valid birth date must be saved in your Garmin Connect User Settings. To check, see: Changing Device and User Settings in Garmin Connect).

  • Battery Saver Disabled: For compatible watches, Battery Saver must be off during sleep. Check Power Manager settings , Sleep Mode settings, or Sleep Score/Sleep Coach Glances. Refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions.

  • Correct Sleep Window: Your sleep window needs to be accurately set. For instructions, see: Setting Sleep and Wake Window Times in Garmin Connect.

  • No Active/Paused Activities: Ensure no activities are active or paused (including "Resume Later") on your watch.

  • Continuous Sleep: Sleep monitoring may stop if the watch detects extended "awake" movement.

  • Activity Tracking Enabled: Activity Tracking must be enabled for sleep monitoring to occur. Refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions.

I Met the Criteria Above and I Am Still Not Seeing My Sleep Glance

The last reason for the sleep card to not display is if Sleep is not enabled for your Home page's “At a Glance” view. Learn how to edit what data you have set up for At a Glance view by going to: Editing the Home page View in the Garmin Connect App.

Why Isn't My Glance Showing Advanced Sleep Monitoring?

If your glance only shows movement and not advanced sleep monitoring (such as REM sleep, Pulse Ox, Respiration, and Sleep Score), ensure the following:

    • Optical Heart Rate Sensor (OHR) is ON: Your watch, if equipped with an OHR sensor, must have it enabled.

    • Wear Watch for 2+ Hours Pre-Sleep: You need to wear your watch for at least two full hours before going to bed.

For more information on advanced sleep monitoring, refer to: What is Advanced Sleep Monitoring in Garmin Connect?.

Why Are Periods of My Sleep Showing As "Unmeasurable"?

"Unmeasurable" sleep periods, especially if your watch has an optical heart rate sensor, occur when the watch loses heart rate tracking due to being pressed against the skin. For more details, see: Why Does Garmin Connect Show Missing Heart Rate Readings During Sleep?.
