Turning Bluetooth Pairing Mode on for a vivoactive 4 Series Device
If you need to pair a vivoactive 4 series watch to a smartphone through the Garmin Connect app, you need to turn on the Bluetooth Pairing mode on the device. Turning on pairing mode will trigger a Bluetooth beacon signal that the Garmin Connect app will look for. New out of the box watches will automatically be in pairing mode when you turn it on for the first time. Steps to Enable Pairing Mode on a Vivoactive 4 Series Watch:
NOTE: The steps below are accessed through the Settings menu and not the Controls menu.
- Press and hold the bottom right button to access the menu of the watch.
- Swipe and select the gear icon at the bottom of the menu.
- Swipe and select Phone.
- Swipe and select Pair Phone.
The watch will now be in Bluetooth pairing mode.
Important Reminder: You must pair the watch through the Garmin Connect App, and not directly to the phone through Bluetooth settings.
