Viewing mapping in BaseCamp™ while in BaseStation mode
Some Garmin mapping can be viewed while the connected handheld device is in BaseStation mode.1 This can be used to view real-time position data on top of the detailed mapping.
In order to view mapping in BaseCamp™ software while in BaseStation mode, you must use one of the following mapping options:
- Preloaded/preprogrammed microSD or SD card
- The maps must be loaded to the original card and cannot be copied
- Downloaded from the Garmin website
- Must be loaded to a microSD or SD card and not to the device's internal memory
- DVD
- Must be installed on the computer directly and cannot be read from a card or a device's internal memory
To view mapping stored on a microSD or SD card, the card must be inserted into a card reader plugged into your computer. Once the device is connected and in BaseStation mode the mapping will display automatically. Mapping installed directly to the computer through a DVD can be selected via the Maps option on the BaseCamp™ menu bar.
1BaseCamp™ may require a software update in order to display the micro/SD card mapping in BaseStation mode. Visit the BaseCamp™ page to update this software. Please see related content for more information on BaseStation mode.
