DOCUMENTATION CONSIDERATIONS:
The GTN Xi Series Pilot's Guide (Garmin P/N 190-02327-03) has been updated to Revision F to reflect the changes associated with GTN Xi Series Main software version 20.40.
Applicable documents listed below are required to be issued to the aircraft owner/operator before the aircraft is returned to service, if not already provided.

PURPOSE:
This STC Service Bulletin provides notification of an update to STC SA02019SE-D, MDL Rev 42.
Major details of the update are:
- Added approval for TAWS-A in all properly equipped aircraft models
- Added interface approval for select Radar Altimeters
- Added installation approval for GDL® 60 Data Transceiver Battery Interface Box to allow interface between a GDL 60 and a dedicated battery
- Added Textron Model 525/525A and Vulcanair P.68R aircraft models to the Approved Model List
Updated GTN Xi main software to Software Version 20.41:
- Improved integration with other units:
- Added support for GWX™ 8000 Weather Radar. GWX 8000 enablement is shared between GTN Xi and G500/G600/G700 TXi.
- Added support for traffic and terrain alerts to be coordinated between GTN Xi and G500/G600/G700 TXi
- Added support for flashing alert synchronization between GTN Xi, G500/G600/G700 TXi, GI 275, and GMC units
- Added support for winds data to be provided across HSDB to unify winds data displayed on GTN Xi, G500/G600/G700 TXi, and GI 275 LRUs
- Added support to use data from GI 275 for OAT Total and OAT static user fields
- Added support for GI 275 to be used as a Connext® Computer Application access point to transfer flight plans between GTN Xi and Garmin Pilot
- Added support for improved data source prioritization for transponder output for installations with G500/G600/G700 TXi configured with Selected Side enabled, so data is sourced from the selected side as required for Enhanced Surveillance and VNAV
- Added support for TAWS-B and TAWS-A enablements to be shared between dual GTN Xi units
- Added support for smoothed CDI turn movements with G500/G600/G700 TXi during turns
- Added ability to load common point transitions for arrival and departure procedures as well as defer the runway selection for runway dependent arrivals
- Added flight plan menu option to toggle the state of the auto-scrolling feature of the flight plan display
- Added high altitude ARTCC frequencies to the nearest list
- Added an altitude filter to the nearest ARTCC frequencies list
- Added background shading to user fields on the main map to increase visibility
- Added ability to export a log of the system IDs assigned to installed databases
- Fixed an issue so that OBS mode is no longer activated between the FAF and MAP using the OBS Mode Select discrete input
- Fixed an issue where the enroute/terminal VNAV descent path could be recalculated due to an unrelated flight plan change resulting in a large jump in vertical deviation
- Fixed the preview map of a procedure so it is centered on the airport related to the procedure being added instead of the current position
- Fixed an issue where route trajectory would not update due to speed changes if barometric altitude was invalid or unavailable
- Fixed an issue so vertical guidance is now provided after flying a missed approach and loading a new approach while still between the FAF and MAP waypoints
- Fixed an issue that caused flight plan data to be delayed when re-enabling crossfill on a cross-side unit
- Fixed an issue related to the display of the orbit Search and Rescue pattern on the map
- Added the following settings in Config Mode (requires Dealer configuration):
- Option to enable “Path-Based Fly-By Turn DTK”
- Option to turn off single point database acknowledgment
- Added configurable voice callouts for 500 ft, 400 ft, 300 ft, 200 ft, 100 ft, 50 ft, 40 ft, 30 ft, 20ft, and 10 ft for installations configured for TAWS-A
- COM Transmit Interlock discrete input to show in the Diagnostics Discrete Inputs page
- Fixed an issue where the sidetone setting in configuration mode was not preserved if the sidetone volume was changed
COM Software Version 2.11 added support for the COM Transmit Interlock discrete input to show in the Configuration Mode Diagnostics Discrete Inputs page.
GPS/WAAS Software Version 8.6 improved satellite selection.
