USB Usage of Garmin Dash Cam and Garmin Speak Devices

 Your device may present a message that states one of the following when connected to a computer or vehicle via USB cable.

  • "The attached cable cannot currently charge your device"
    • Select OK to continue using the device
  • "Connect to Computer?"
    • Select "X" to continue using the device
  • "Enter Mass Storage Mode?"
    • Select "No" to continue using the device

This behavior is normal. While the device does receive enough power from the computer or vehicle to remain powered on and to operate, it does not receive enough power for the battery level to increase on devices that include a battery.

If the device does not display one of the above messages or is unable to operate normally with USB power in the vehicle, the included vehicle power cable will need to be used.
