Requesting Weather Forecasts With an inReach SE or Explorer

The inReach SE® and inReach Explorer® devices are able to request Basic, Premium, or Marine weather forecasts for viewing on the inReach® device. This article will cover how to request weather forecasts from the inReach device only. Important Notes

• For more information about Basic, Premium, and Marine weather, see - Frequently Asked Questions on Weather for inReach.

• A marine forecast will be included for locations on an ocean or other large body of water, if available. If you are unable to get a marine forecast, select a location further from shore.

• Requesting weather forecasts is only available to inReach SE or inReach Explorer devices loaded with the 2.11 or later firmware version. If you do not have an option for Weather, see Updating inReach Firmware and Syncing Account Changes with inReach Sync for instructions on updating your device with the latest firmware release.

Requesting a Weather Forecast

1. Select Weather.

2. Select My Location, or select New Location for a weather forecast of a different area.

   Additional Steps for New Location

   1. Select Manually Enter Coordinates or Select a Waypoint.

      • Manually Enter Coordinates:

        1. Type in the coordinates.

        2. Press the X button.

        3. Select More on the location page to add a name to the location created, or edit it.

      • Select a Waypoint: Choose a Waypoint saved on the device.

3. Change the selections for Basic, Premium, or Marine forecasts, if desired:

   Changing Between Basic and Premium Forecasts

   1. Select Weather.

      

   2. Select Forecast Type to change the currently selected forecast type.

      

   3. Select Basic or Premium.

      

   4. Press the X button to return to the location page.

   ---

   Enabling/Disabling Marine Forecasts

   1. Select Marine.

      

   2. Select Marine again on the next page to change the current Marine forecast setting.

      

   3. Select Disabled or Enabled.

      

   4. Press the X button to return to the location page.

   ---

4. Select Get Forecast.

   

5. Select Get Forecast to confirm.
