Error: "Could not find user" when attempting to activate an inReach device
If signed into an existing Garmin account when beginning the activation process for an inReach device, you may receive an error message that says Could not find user. If you receive this error message please try following the steps below to resolve the issue:
- Click on the silhouette icon
in the upper right hand corner of the page
- Click Log Out
- You should now be returned to the main landing page for https://explore.garmin.com
- Click on the Select Personal Plans or Select Flex Plans button
- See Difference Between inReach Personal and Professional Plans for more information comparing the plan options
- Enter your device IMEI number, authorization code, the country of your billing address, and read and acknowledge the terms of use
- If activating on a Flex plan, select the country of your billing address
- Click Next
- Click on the link "I already have a Garmin account"
- Enter your Garmin account credentials
- Click Sign In
- Follow the remaining prompts to activate inReach service
