Grid format

A grid is a series of lines on a map of an area that forms a square shape that helps describe a location in reference to a Datum point. Garmin outdoor handhelds offer a variety of grid formats. Examples of the more commonly used formats include:

Latitude and Longitude, UTM, MGRS, Maidenhead, US  National Grid

The default Grid format on Garmin devices is the following Latitude and Longitude format: hddd° mm.mmm.
