How to Search, Save, Edit, or Delete Locations on an Automotive Device

Choose a topic below for instructions on searching for, saving, editing, or deleting addresses or points of interest (POI).

To Search for an Address

1. Touch Where To?

2. Touch Address

3. Select the state or to change the state, touch Spell State/Province

4. Touch Spell City

5. Enter City name and touch Done

6. Enter the House Number and touch Done

7. Enter the Street and touch Done

The address should appear in the list of search results, select the correct destination from this list and touch Go.

To Search for a Point of Interest

1. Touch Where To?
 
2. Touch Points of Interest
  • If not listed, POI categories will be listed in the Where To? menu
3.Select the POI category (food, fuel, lodging, etc.) that best matches your desired destination
4. Select sub-category if necessary
5. Select the destination from the listed nearby POIs
  • If the desired destination is not shown, touch Spell to search for a specific POI by name
6. Once you have selected the destination, touch Go to calculate a route  
After an address, POI or another type of destination has been found on your device, it is possible to save that destination so it can be easily accessed in the future. Once saved, the destination will be accessible from Favorites or Saved in the Where To? menu on the device.

To Save a Result

1. Search for an address, POI, etc., using the steps above  
2. When the location is found, select it from the search results  
3. Touch Save
4. Enter a name for the location
5. Touch Done
6. Touch OK when notified that the address has been added to Saved Places

Repeat steps to save additional destinations.

To Edit a Favorite

1. Touch Where To?  
2. Touch Favorites
 
3. Touch the favorite you would like to edit
 
4. Touch Edit  
5. Touch the information you would like to change
  • You may change the name,  map symbol, and phone number
The selected favorite(s) will now be edited.

To Delete a Favorite

1. Touch Where To?
 
2. Touch Favorites  
3. Touch the favorite you would like to delete
4. Touch Edit  
5. Touch Delete
  • Some devices will give you the option to select other favorites to delete as well, then once selected, press Delete
6. Touch Yes
The selected favorite(s) will now be deleted.
