Change Sport Hot Key

Some Garmin watches feature the Change Sport hot key option that can allow you to switch activity profiles while recording an activity, and save it as one overall multisport activity. Using the Change Sport hot key does not have built in transition periods like the Multisport profile, but can be useful if you do not know the types of activities you will be doing in advance.

Using the Change Sport Hot Key During an Activity

  1. Start an activity.

  2. Hold the Change Sport hot key.

    • You will need to set up Change Sport as a hot key. For instructions on adding this, refer to your owner's manual.

  3. Press START/STOP to select your next activity from the list.

  4. Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 as needed for each new activity.

  5. When finished, press START/STOP to stop recording.

After completing and saving the activity, it will be saved as a multisport activity to the watch. It can then be viewed as a multisport activity on the watch and in Garmin Connect once you have synced.

Using Alerts, Data Fields, and Other Settings

Alerts, data fields, and other sport specific settings within the multisport activity profile are controlled by the sports that are selected for each activity.

For example: if Run is the profile selected for your first activity you would set what alerts you want to see using the Run profile.

You can disable all alerts from the profiles selected in the multisport profile within the activity settings.

  1. Press the START/STOP.

  2. Select your multisport profile.

  3. Press and hold UP to open the menu.

  4. Select Triathlon Settings. (This will be the name of the selected profile.)

  5. Select Alerts to toggle it to either Allow or Do Not Allow.
