Garmin Instinct 2X Solar Torch Features

Instinct® 2X Solar watches feature an LED flashlight, referred to as torch, with the ability to adjust brightness, strobe, color, and activity settings. 

Using the Instinct 2X Solar Torch

Quickly pressing the LIGHT key twice will enable/disable the built-in LED torch, which is located above the display between the watch bezel and the band:

When the torch is activated, it will use the last torch setting that was selected (strobe and distress pattern excluded). 

Torch Settings for General Use

These settings are general use of the torch outside of activities. For settings during activities, see the section below. 

1. Press and hold LIGHT to access the Controls menu.
   NOTE: If Torch is not in the Controls menu, you will need to add it to access the settings, see - Customizing the Controls Menu.

3. The following options will be available:
   

   ---

   Brightness Levels

   Press UP or DOWN to adjust the brightness level.

   

   ---

   Red Light

   Press UP or DOWN until RED is selected.

   Strobe Light Settings

   Press and hold UP/MENU, then select Strobe and choose an option:

   • Blink - The symbols at the top of the display represent the strobe pattern behavior.
     
   • Custom - After selecting the Custom option, select to choose the light pattern, speed, and color. The symbols at the top of the display will represent the strobe pattern behavior. 
     
   • Blitz - The symbols at the top of the display represent the strobe pattern behavior.
     
   • Beacon - The symbols at the top of the display represent the strobe pattern behavior.
     
   • Pulse - The symbols at the top of the display represent the strobe pattern behavior.

   On/Off

   Press START to turn the torch on or off temporarily while staying in the torch settings.

Activities and App Settings

In addition to the options listed above, the Instinct 2X Solar can also be customized to use different light modes during certain activities. For example, it can be set to automatically activate a strobe light when running after sunset.

To adjust these settings:

1. Hold UP/MENU.
2. Select Activities & Apps.
3. Select an activity.
4. Select the activity settings.
5. Select Strobe, then select an option:
   • Status - Choose between Off, After Sunset, or On.
     NOTE: After Sunset will use the sunset time determined by the watch, and will continue until 30 minutes after sunrise.
   • Mode - Choose between Blink, Pulse, Beacon, Blitz, or Cadence.
   • Speed - Choose between Slow, Medium, or Fast. 
   • Color - Choose between White, or Red.
