How to Use Power Manager on Marine Watches
Power Manager allows the user to see and control how the settings and sensors impact battery life. The video below walks through how to get the most battery life out of the watch.
Power Manager offers various settings to manage battery use:
Battery Saver controls everyday settings, such as backlight, smartphone connection, or optical heart rate
Power Modes allows the user to set for individual activity profiles
Battery Alerts alerts the user the battery is getting low

IMPORTANT
Keep the following in mind when using Power Modes or the Battery Saver.
Turning on Battery Saver, or using a Power Mode, will stop certain features from working. The impacted features will depend on the Power Mode or Battery Saver settings.
How Power Mode and Battery Saver Settings Can Affect Other Features
Turning Off Bluetooth Will Stop the Following Functions:
Pairing with Garmin Connect app
Syncing with Garmin Connect app
Receiving smart notifications
Receiving weather information
Listen to music through Bluetooth headphones
Controlling music on a mobile phone from the watch
Setting up or editing Garmin Pay settings
Pairing with Bluetooth sensors
Or any other number of features that require a Bluetooth connection
Turning Off Wi-Fi Will Stop the Following Functions:
Syncing audio content from third-party providers such as Spotify or Amazon Music
Activity uploads over Wi-Fi
Software updates over Wi-Fi
Downloading workouts and training plans over Wi-Fi
Turning Off Wrist Heart Rate Will Stop the Following Functions:
Heart rate monitoring
Sleep tracking and metrics
PulseOx reading (can be toggled separately)
New VO2 Max scores
Or any other features that require Wrist Heart Rate
Turning Off Activity Tracking Will Stop the Following Functions:
Step tracking
Floors climbed
Sleep monitoring
Turning Off GPS for Activities Will Stop the Following Functions:
Track recording
GPS usage for distance
GPS usage for pace
The map activity displayed in Garmin Connect
Any other features that rely on GPS
Turning the Watch Face to Low Power:
- Displays a simplified watch face
Turning Off Backlight:
- Stops the light button from powering on pressed
Battery and Power Manager Settings
Enabling or Disabling Battery Saver
Battery Saver allows the user to quickly change the watch's settings to improve the overall estimated battery life. Use battery saver while not recording activities.
Hold Menu
Select or scroll to Settings
Select Power Manager
Select Battery Saver
Choose Status to toggle Battery Saver mode On or Off
When enabling or disabling Battery Saver mode, the watch will estimate the battery life changes with this setting.
Customizing Battery Saver
Battery Saver is designed for you to quickly change some settings of your watch to improve the overall estimated battery life. This is good for conserving battery while not recording activities.
Hold Menu
Select or scroll to Settings
Select Power Manager
Select Battery Saver
Toggling the Status can turn ON or OFF Battery Saver mode
Select Edit to adjust additional features to customize Battery Saver
Watch Face can be set to Low Power1, saving additional power by only updating the watch face once per minute
Music can be enabled or disabled, allowing for usage of the music player or not
Phone can enable or disable the smartphone connection
Wi-Fi can enable or disable the Wi-Fi connection
Activity Tracking will enable or disable all-day activity tracking features, such as sleep tracking, step recording, floors climbed, intensity minutes, and Move IQ events
Wrist Heart Rate will enable or disable the optical heart rate sensor
Pulse Oximeter will enable or disable all-day acclimation mode2
The backlight will enable or disable the watch's backlight
With each change made, the watch displays an estimate of how the watch's battery life will change while in Battery Saver mode.
Preset Power Modes
Max Battery turns off all customizable power features and sets GPS recording to Ultratrac to provide the longest time between charges
Jacket Mode will disable wrist heart rate but will not make changes to other settings. Set to this mode when not wearing the device on the wrist
Customizing Power Modes
Power Modes allow for quick adjustments to system settings, activity settings, and GPS settings to extend battery life during an activity—multiple Power Modes based on activities to aid in conserving battery life.

Select an option:
Select a specific Power Mode to customize
Select Add New to make a new Power Mode based on chosen settings. Prompt displays to name the new Power Mode.
Customizing allows the user to make changes according to the user's needs.
Example: Select Phone to enable or disable smartphone connection when in the specific Power Mode
Select Done when finished making changes if prompted
With each change made, the watch displays an estimate of how the battery life changes while in the selected Power Mode.
Customizing Battery Alerts
Battery alerts4 give a warning when the watch's battery drops to a defined level. Battery alerts the user settings under the Power Manager.Customizing Battery Alerts

Select Battery Saver
Select Low Battery Alert
Select the desired alert
Example: 1 Day (2h GPS/Music)
The information in the parentheses indicates that when using GPS/Music, the alert notifies when the watch has 2 hours of battery remaining.
In Activity Battery Alerts
Enable or disable battery alerts for activities. Options display to help prolong the battery estimate when a battery alert occurs during a workout, allowing the user to get the extra battery to complete an activity. Similar to options found under the Battery Saver.

Toggle ON or OFF Low Battery Alert
1 With Low Battery mode enabled, the option to edit watch faces will not be displayed.
2 Pulse Oximeter can only be adjusted if the Wrist Heart Rate is enabled.
3 Power Manager can also be accessed through individual activities, allowing the user to control the battery settings for that activity. To access Power Manager settings for an activity: select an activity, hold Menu, then choose Power Mode.
4 A software update may be required for this feature to work. Ensure device software is up to date.
