GND 10 NMEA 2000 Status Light Flashing Orange

GND™ 10 Black Box NMEA 2000 Status Light Flashing Orange

The flashing "Orange" NMEA 2000 status light indicates the GND 10 is updating software via NMEA 2000 network and associated devices.

NOTE:  Before proceeding, ensure the NMEA 2000 Network is fully operational. See NMEA 2000 Troubleshooting and Technical Reference for Garmin NMEA 2000 Products for more information.

  1. Check the NMEA 2000 status light on the GND 10 Black Box Bridge

  2. Check the NMEA 2000 device list for the GND 10 and current software version

  3. If the GND 10 software is up to date/current and the NMEA 2000  status light is still flashing Orange

    • Power cycle the NMEA 2000 network

    • Disconnect the NMEA 2000 drop cable from the NMEA 2000 "T" connector and the GND 10 plug

    • Inspect for damage and corrosion on all the devices

    • Reconnect NMEA 2000 drop cable to the GND 10 and NMEA 2000 "T" connector

    • Check NMEA 2000 status light

  4. If the NMEA 2000 status light is still flashing Orange:

NOTE:  The GND 10 MUST be isolated from all the other NMEA 2000 devices (except the chartplotter) when performing the following procedures

    • Remove all the other NMEA 2000 devices from the NMEA 2000 network, except for the chartplotter and the GND 10

    • Re-run the software update using the normal software update procedures

    • If GND 10 NMEA 2000 status light is still flashing Orange after isolating the device and updating the software, replace GND 10

  5. If the normal software update results in a "Recovery Loader Ready" message on the chartplotter:

NOTE:  The GND 10 MUST be isolated from all the other NMEA 2000 devices (except the chartplotter) when performing the following procedures
