My Approach S3, S4, S5, or S6 Is Not Recognized by the Computer
Mass storage devices appear as drives on your computer, allowing easy access to data on the device and to be recognized by Garmin programs. Occasionally, the watch may not appear as a drive. The following steps can be performed to get the device to be recognized.
Forcing Device Connection With Computer
- Ensure watch battery is fully charged.
- Disconnect the watch from the computer.
- Power the watch off.
- Press and hold the Measure button.
- Plug the watch into computer while continuing to hold the Measure button.
- Wait until watch is recognized by computer.
NOTE: This may take up to 30 seconds. - If prompted, install USB device drivers.
- Release the Measure button.
- Upload scorecards and download available updates with Garmin Express.
