Using the Vault in the Varia App
Vault is a secure online video storage platform that can be used to store saved footage from your compatible Varia™ smart bike light. Vault is accessed through the Varia mobile app and requires a subscription to use.
Select a topic below for more information on the Vault storage in the Varia app.
Activating Your Vault Subscription
NOTE: A Vault subscription requires enabling Two-Step Verification on your Garmin account. You will be guided through this process during the initial setup of your Vault if it is not currently enabled.
The Vault subscription is activated through the Varia app. Activation is offered when initially pairing a Varia Vue headlight camera, or activated at any time in the app. If you have an existing Vault subscription through the Garmin Drive™ or dēzl™ app, your Vault subscription will be active in the Varia app when signing in using your existing Garmin credentials.

If an existing Vault subscription is found, your activation is complete and you will return to the Vault Settings page.
Select a plan.
Check the Automatic Renewal box, then Accept and Continue.
Follow the prompts to complete the subscription order.
Your Vault subscription is now activated and ready to use. To manage your subscription, change or cancel your plan, or update payment information, see Managing My Garmin Subscription Service.
Uploading Content to the Vault
Photos and videos recorded on your Varia™ Vue or Varia™ RCT715 can be uploaded to the Vault through the Varia app. Footage is uploaded from the Gallery, and must first be downloaded and saved to your phone before it can be uploaded to the Vault. To save to the Vault, select a clip from the Downloaded tab of the Gallery, and select Add to Vault. This will start the upload and progress can be tracked in the Upload Queue. From the home screen of the Varia app:
Select
(top right).
Select Vault.
Select the Upload Queue.
Once the upload is complete, the footage will appear in the Gallery tab. Vault take some time to process the videos after being uploaded. During this time they will not be viewable in the Gallery. Allow the video to finish processing before viewing or sharing in the Vault.
Uploading From the Varia Vue Using Wi-Fi
The Varia Vue headlight camera can connect to a local W-Fi® network and automatically upload your locked footage to the Vault while charging. A Wi-Fi network must be added to the Varia Vue using the steps below:
Connect your Varia Vue to the Varia app.
Select
(top right).
Select Vault Settings
Select Vue-xxxxx Wi-Fi Settings
The xxxxx will be the pairing ID of your Varia
Select Add a New Network
Choose a network, or add one manually if none are found.
Enter the password, if applicable, and select Next.
The Varia will connect to the network and test the connection. Once connected, it will appear in the list of Wi-Fi networks in the Wi-Fi setup page of your Vue. When the Vue is charging, it will search for and connect to any saved networks in range and automatically start to upload any Locked footage stored on the Varia. The Device LED will alternate green and blue flashes to indicate the device is uploading videos to the Vault.
The Varia will not upload over Wi-Fi if plugged into a computer, as the computer will put the device into USB Mass Storage Mode and prevent it from connecting to any networks.
Managing Saved Content in the Vault
Content that is uploaded and saved to the Vault can be managed, shared, and deleted through the Varia app. You can view your footage uploaded to the Vault by selecting the app settings icon in the top right corner, then selecting Vault. The Gallery tab will contain your saved videos and photos in the Vault. Select a clip to view the video. You will also be presented with options to save the clip to your phone, share the clip securely, or remove the video from the Vault.
Sharing Vault Content
Your Vault subscription allows you to securely share your saved content with others. Selecting the Secure Share option will allow you to share a link to view the clip. Recipients will get a secure link to view the video on the Garmin Vault, as well as a 6 digit access code needed to view it. They will be able to download and save the video to their local storage. This link can be disabled in the Varia app by opening the clip in the Gallery, and selecting Disable Link to revoke all access.
Deleting Vault Content
Photos and videos saved to the Vault can be deleted by selecting the Remove from Vault option that is present when viewing the saved media.
