Chart Installer: Download of Charts Fails During the Installation Phase
If you are experiencing unexpected behavior while downloading Navionics® charts on your card and the download cannot complete the "installing" process or it fails, this might be caused by your card being locked or you are currently using a defective card reader.
You might notice the spinning wheel and download bar have been running in the same position for an extended period of time, before reverting back to an error message stating the download has failed.
To troubleshoot this please check the following:
- Ensure your media card is not locked by making sure the small tab on the upper-left of the chip is in the upward position.
- Try the download using another card reader. During the download process the Navionics data is temporary stored on your hard drive and during the installation phase is copied on your media card. Failing to copy data from your hard drive to your media card could be related to a malfunctioning of your card reader (either PC internal embedded card reader or USB external card reader).
- Restart or reload the download. Close out of the Chart Installer completely and then launch the software again from the desktop icon and restart the download process.
NOTE: The Navionics Chart Installer software is compatible with computers running Windows 10 and above, as well as Mac OSX 10.13 or above.
