Downloading Databases to my Panel Mount Device

Follow the Steps below to Update your Aviation Panel Mount Device with Current Databases:

1. Log in to our website www.flyGarmin.com
2. Select the Devices tab at the top of the website page
3. Select the Add Device button
4. Select on the picture of the device you would like to add
5. Enter the system ID number from the device  Finding the Unit ID or System ID on an Aviation Device
6. Select an existing aircraft, or create a new aircraft that the device is installed in.
7. Fill out all required information: Make, Model, Series, Tail number, Year, Serial Number.
8. Select Add Device and Aircraft.
9. Select the Buy Databases button on the Aircraft Details page.
10. Select the regions/subscriptions you would like to purchase.
11. Select Add to Cart.
12. Once the purchase is complete.  Open the Garmin Aviation Database Manager installed on your computer.  If you don't have the Garmin Aviation Database Manager installed, you can follow the link to install: Install Garmin Aviation Database Manager
13. Once the Garmin Aviation Database manager is opened, select the Update/Reinstall button for the aircraft.

14. Select the devices for update, and then select Continue.
    • If you are wanting to update multiple devices in the aircraft with the GTN™ avionics SD Card, select the Sync Update option.  In this scenario, we will only be updating the GTN.

15. Select Which Cycle and then ensure all of the databases are selected for the ones you want to update. 
16. Then select Continue.

17. Accept the license agreement by selecting Accept.
18. Insert the SD Card into your card reader, and then select the card's drive letter. 
19. Then select Continue.
    • 
20. Once the updates are complete, eject the SD Card from your card reader and install back in your avionics.

*Please note, with the new Garmin Aviation Database Manager application, there is no need to go back to fly.Garmin.com once the devices and subscriptions are active.
