Troubleshooting Condensation on the VIRB Ultra 30
Garmin, like many companies, creates devices with a level of humidity that is most conducive to manufacturing and overall device performance. As a result, the VIRB can experience temporary condensation, moisture or fogging inside the device when you transition to an environment with a significantly different temperature. To decrease the chances of this occurring with your device, make the transition in temperature as gradual as possible.
The waterproof case of your VIRB® Ultra 30 comes with a desiccant pack to help prevent moisture buildup in the case during use. Please make sure this pack is in place as illustrated below when the camera is in the case.
For best performance, store the desiccant in the included bag when not in use. Check the moisture indicator and consult the owner’s manual if the desiccant is saturated for tips on how to dry it out. Being mindful of the signs of water ingress or signs of natural condensation such as fine mist that dissipates over time will help you determine if the device may need to be repaired.
