Wireless Map and Software Update Instructions

Your Garmin fleet 770, 780, and 790 can download map updates over the air via an internet-enabled Wi-fi connection.

To successfully complete a Wi-Fi update, a wireless connection to home high-speed internet (Fiber, Cable, DSL, etc.) is required.  Due to the size of a map update, connections with data caps or restrictions should not be used. Slower connections (satellite, fixed wireless, dial-up, etc.) and mobile broadband (MiFi, AirCard, cell phone tethering, etc.) should not be used.

The device must be plugged into power to perform the update. See External Power Options for Wireless Updates for more info.

NOTE: See Not Enough Free Space for a Wireless Update if your device states there is not enough space for the wireless update.
