Losing connection between the Furuno Navnet 3d System and the GHP 10 autopilot
It has been found that when connecting a GHP 10 autopilot to a Furuno Navnet 3d System over NMEA 2000, the Furuno setup may have radar overlay issues or could lose the connection to the GHP 10 all together.
If this happens, it is best to connect the GHP 10 to the Furuno system over NMEA 0183 instead of NMEA 2000. This will provide a constant and more reliable connection between the two devices. It is best to connect the GHP 10 NMEA Output to the Furuno port 3 Input. The GHP 10 NMEA Input should be connected to the Furuno port 2 Output.
For more information about the port wiring on the Furuno setup, please refer to its Owner's Manual.
