My Approach S20 is in the Wrong Language

If your Approach® S20 golf watch is set to the wrong language and you need to change it, the below instructions will guide you through selecting the correct language. If the language is incorrect on your first usage of the watch, follow the steps for resetting the device.

Changing the Language

  1. Press OK.

  2. Press Down 4 times.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press Down 8 times.

  5. Press OK.

  6. Press Up or Down to select desired language.

  7. Press OK.

You have now changed the language on your Approach S20 watch.

If you were unable to change the language on your watch using the steps above, the below instructions will guide you through the steps to reset your watch. You will be prompted to select a language after the reset, during initial setup. 

Resetting the Approach S20

Performing a factory reset will erase all user information and restore the watch to the default settings.

  1. Power off the unit.

    • If prompted with a question, Press OK button.

  2. Press and hold Back and OK.

  3. Press Power until the Garmin logo appears on the screen.

  4. Continue holding Back and OK for up to 10 seconds.

  5. Release the OK button.

  6. Continue to holding Back for 5 seconds, then release.

If done properly, the initial setup screen will appear shortly.

The device should now be reset to default factory settings. Leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for up to 20 minutes to acquire satellite data.

Note: Any scorecards saved to the watch will remain on the watch after a factory reset.
