SD Memory Card Compatibility for the Garmin Speak Plus
The Garmin Speak™ Plus requires an SD card to record video or take pictures. The device does not have any internal memory for storing files.
Maximum Capacity | Card Types | Speed Class |
---|---|---|
64 GB | microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC | Class 10 (or higher) is required |
microSD cards can be purchased from Garmin or other retailers.
SD memory cards wear out after they are overwritten after a large number of times.
- Your device detects memory card errors automatically and alerts you when it is time to format or replace your memory card.
To Help Extend the Useful Life of your SD card, Garmin Recommends the Following:
Back up saved footage and format the memory card at least once every 6 months.
Transferring saved footage, see your device's Owner's Manual.
The dash camera records continuously. You may need to replace the memory card periodically.
Turn off the device when your vehicle is not in use to prevent the dash camera from recording unneeded footage.
Use a memory card with a higher storage capacity.
Higher-capacity memory cards are overwritten less frequently and will usually last longer.
Use a high-quality memory card with a speed rating of class 10 or higher.
Purchase your replacement memory card from a high-quality manufacturer and a reputable vendor.
