Downloading Satellite Imagery on the Alpha XL
Satellite Imagery provides downloadable high-resolution map imagery, with detailed Satellite Imagery and topographical maps.
A subscription is not required and coverage is worldwide.
You can download Satellite Imagery directly to your device when it is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Satellite Imagery is locked to one device and cannot be transferred to another device even if using a memory card.
- The devices have a limit on how many Satellite images can be downloaded for optimal device performance and will display a warning once this limit has been reached. If you receive this message, images will need to be deleted to free up space for additional downloads.
- Garmin offers the most recent images that our providers make available.
- You can typically expect an update once a year in heavily populated areas. An update can usually be seen every two years in lesser populated areas. Updates to less populated areas do not apply to all regions. Some regions may experience longer time-frames between updates.
- These time-frames are estimated and there is no notification when an area will be, or has been, updated.
Please select your device in the drop downs below for instructions on how to download Satellite Imagery.
