(2013) Service Advisory 1312 Rev A: GTN 750, GTN 635, and GTN 650 COM Remote Channel Select

DESCRIPTION

During normal operation, if the COM Remote Tune Up or Tune Down are pressed, the GTN will cycle through the list of User COM Frequencies. If the COM Remote Tune Up or Tune Down are pressed while here are no User COM Frequencies saved on the GTN, the GTN loses communication with the COM board until power is cycled to the main board or a User COM Frequency is saved. When the GTN enters this state, the GTN can no longer tune or flip/flop COM frequencies, the COM software version is no longer reported, and powering off the COM board does not cause a red "X" over the COM frequencies.

PRODUCTS AFFECTED

GTN 750 and 635/650 Units with Main Software Version 3.00 or later.

PILOT ACTION

Frequencies must be stored in the User COM Frequency list prior to utilizing the COM remote channel select switches.

RESOLUTION

Garmin plans to correct this issue in a future software release.
