Maps for Garmin devices are sold as pre-programmed data cards, or as a direct download from the Garmin website.

Not all formats are available with all map offerings. The available formats for the specific map product will be listed under Version on the Map page.
On both pre-programmed data cards and Downloadable Content (DLC), the map cannot be updated. If you wish to have updated map content, a new map must be purchased.

The recommended method to purchase and use additional maps. The card can be moved between compatible Garmin devices. The card is built after you place the order to ensure you receive the latest maps. The order takes an additional 1 to 3 business days to process before shipping. Ready for immediate use, no setup required. Cannot be removed, transferred, or combined with other pre-programmed data cards or internal memory of a device.
| Must be downloaded using the Garmin Express™ application and a high-speed internet connection. The map may only be used with one Garmin device and cannot be transferred between devices, even if installed on an SD card. Can be downloaded immediately after purchase. Download will expire a year from purchase. May be downloaded to the device, or to your own SD card if the device has insufficient space. The required size of the SD card may vary depending on the size of the DLC map and on the device's card requirements. For more information, see Related Content below.
