TSO authorization does not provide installation airworthiness approval. Separate installation airworthiness approval is required for type certified aircraft. Notification of revision to any Garmin STC(s) will be provided under a separate service bulletin.

DOCUMENTATION CONSIDERATIONS:

GTN Xi Series Pilot's Guide (Garmin P/N 190-02327-03) Rev. F is to be issued to the aircraft owner, if not already provided.

NOTE
GTN Xi Series Pilot's Guide (Garmin P/N 190-02327-03) Rev. E combined with the GTN Xi Series Software v20.40 Upgrade Supplement (Garmin P/N 190-02327-13) Rev A provide equivalent instructions to the latest revision of the Pilot's Guide.

PURPOSE:

GTN Xi Series Main Software Version 20.42 contains the following changes:

• Increased the range of the COM Carrier Squelch setting in Configuration Mode to resolve weak COM reception issues experienced in some installations (requires COM Software Version 2.11)

NOTE
Configuration Mode is accessed by a dealer.

NOTE
Negative COM carrier squelch settings require Main Software Version 20.42 and later and COM Software Version 2.11 and later. The COM carrier squelch setting must be set between 0 and 100 before installing older software versions.

• Fixed an issue where Flight Data Logs may not be sent to the GDL® 60 Data Transceiver
• Fixed an issue where the user wind data field was invalid when air data was sourced from ARINC formats
