What is the Kill Switch Feature on the Foretrex 801/901?
The Foretrex® 801 and 901 outdoor navigators offer an option named Kill Switch. The Kill Switch allows you to reset the device quickly, dumping any stored data and reverting the device to factory settings.1 You may find this option useful if you work in a position where data saved on your watch could be considered sensitive.
Activating the Kill Switch
Press POWER 5 times in less than 2 seconds.
TIP: You can press any button to cancel the KILL SWITCH feature during a 10-second countdown.
After 10 seconds, the device deletes all user-entered data.
1 The Kill Switch will perform a full master reset of your device. Any saved data, sensor or device pairings, custom settings, and device history will be deleted when using the Kill Switch. When used with the Garmin Explore™ app, the Foretrex navigator can periodically back up saved routes, tracks, and waypoints to your Garmin Explore account.
