Placing a Waypoint at a Specific Latitude and Longitude Coordinate on a PN-Series GPS

A waypoint is a location you mark or store using a PN-Series GPS device. When you press the MARK button of the PN-Series GPS, the device creates a waypoint at your current GPS location or at the map cursor if you are viewing a different location on the map. To mark a specific latitude and longitude with your PN-Series GPS, follow the steps below.

  1. Make sure the PN-Series GPS device is on and press the MARK  button on the device.

  2. On the waypoint details page, use the arrow keypad to move the cursor to the Coordinates: Lat/Lon field and press ENTER.

    Note:
If the coordinates you wish to enter are in a different format than what is shown, change the Coordinates: Primaryoption in the Units settings of your device to match the coordinates you want to mark.

  3. Use the right and left buttons on the arrow keypad to move the cursor to the characters you want to edit and use the up and down buttons to change the value of the characters to match the coordinate you want to mark.

  4. When the waypoint coordinate matches the latitude and longitude you want to mark, press ENTER

Note: You can use these same instructions to edit any of the fields on the waypoint details page including Symbol/Label,ElevationTime/Date, and Comments.

  5. If you are using a PN-20 or a PN-40 with the 2.6 or earlier firmware, move the cursor to the Save button at the bottom of the screen and press ENTER. If you are using a PN-40 with the 2.8 firmware or a PN-60, your waypoints are saved automatically.
