Customizing the Watch Face on an Approach S44 or S50 Watch
The Approach® S44 and Approach® S50 watches offer the ability to customize what data is displayed on the watch face. The instructions below are for customizing the pre-loaded watch faces.
Customizing the Watch Face
Press and hold the Top button.
Touch Settings.
Scroll and touch Watch Face.
Swipe from the left or right side of the screen to view the available watch faces.
For more information on creating a Custom watch face, see the dropdown section below.
Touch the
Pencil Icon to edit the selected watch face.NOTE: The selected watch face may change what can be customized, what options are available, or how the data appears.
Select Background to change the background image.
Select Hands to change the style of the hands for the analog watch face.
Select Data to change what data options appear.
Select Time Markers to toggle the seconds display on/off.
Select Color to change the color of the data that shows on the watch face.
Select Delete to remove the watch face from your list of favorites.
Press the Top button to save any changes made.
From the watch face press and hold the Top button.
Touch Settings.
Scroll down and touch Watch Face.
Swipe left/right and touch Create Custom.
Select the type of watch face.
Select the type of background.
Swipe up or down to scroll through the background options, and tap the screen to select the displayed background.
Swipe up or down to scroll through the analog and digital dials, and tap the screen to select the displayed dial.
Select each data field you want to customize, and select the data to display in it.
NOTE: A white border indicates the customizable data fields for this face.
Swipe left to customize the time markers.
Swipe up or down to scroll through the time markers, and tap the screen to select a time marker.
Swipe up or down to scroll through the colors, and tap the screen to select the displayed color.
Press the Top button to save and apply your new watch face.
Customizing a Watch Face Through the Connect IQ Store
With the Approach S50 you can use the Connect IQ™ Store to browse, download, and customize thousands of watch faces. Not all watch faces from Connect IQ Store will allow for customization. If the watch face is not developed by Garmin, reach out to the developer for help.
NOTE: These steps will only work for the Approach S50.
Open the Connect IQ app.
Select Device.
Select My Watch Faces.
Select the title of the watch face you want to customize.
Select Settings.
Adjust the available options.
Select Save when complete.
