There are scenarios where a device's GarminDevice.xml file is needed by Garmin Product Support for troubleshooting. The easiest way to send this file is with Garmin Express™ software. For instructions, see - Garmin Express Log Collection.
Some scenarios will require that the file be obtained manually from a mass storage device, then provided to Product Support using a Secure File Upload Tool.
Connect the dog training device to the computer using the USB data/charging cable.
Press Windows key (
) + E on the keyboard to open Windows/File Explorer.
Select This PC (Windows 10 and Windows 11 only).
Open the Garmin drive labeled as your device model.
Open the GARMIN folder.
Right-click the GarminDevice.xml file and select Copy.
Return to the desktop screen.
Right-click on the desktop and select Paste.
The file can then be provided to Product Support using the Secure File Upload Tool.
Connect the dog training device to the computer using the USB data/charging cable.
Open Finder

Select Go > Computer in the menu bar.
Open the Garmin drive.
Open the GARMIN folder.
CTRL + click the GarminDevice.xml file and select Copy "GarminDevice.xml".
Return to the desktop screen.
CTRL + click on the desktop and select Paste Item.
The file can then be provided to Product Support using the Secure File Upload Tool.
You will use the Secure File Upload Tool to send the GarminDevice.xml to Product Support. Follow the instructions below for using Secure File Transfer Tool.
Open Secure File Upload.
Enter the email address associated with your Garmin account.
Check the box indicating you have read and agree to the Terms of Use.
Select Continue.
Select Browse your device.
Locate and select the GarminDevice.xml file(s) on your desktop.
Select Open.
Select Upload.
Confirm you see a message: Success! Your Files Have Been Uploaded.
If you need to add more files choose the Select More Files option.
Once you have uploaded all files, select SUBMIT.
Verify that you get the confirmation message that says: Thank you! Your File Submission is Complete.
Send an email back to Product Support to verify we received the files.
