Some Garmin® watches can automatically track or log your naps to see how they benefit your body. For more information on Garmin nap detection, see Garmin Health Science - Nap Detection.
For details regarding the ability to track naps, see the sections below.
Topics
How Do I Track Naps?
Naps can get tracked automatically without being put into Nap Mode if there is a long enough period of inactivity, but the preferred method is to trigger a nap manually for best results. To manually trigger the nap function, see details below:
Scroll or swipe down from your watch face to your glances.
Select the Nap glance.
Press the top right button.
Select Start Nap (If this option does not appear skip to step 5).
Select the check mark to set a nap timer.
Set the desired nap duration.
- Press the top right button to start the timer.
Your watch will enter a Do Not Disturb mode and the watch face will change in appearance when the nap starts. Naps are added to your sleep statistics and can also impact your recovery.
NOTE: If you set up a 10 minute nap timer, the timer will start as soon as you initiate it. Therefore, the alarm will sound after the 10 minutes are up, regardless of whether or not you truly fell asleep.
How Do I End a Nap Early?
When in sleep mode, press the top right button on your watch.
Select the check mark at the bottom to end the nap.
Your watch will stop recording the nap session.
Are There Nap Duration Requirements?
Yes, naps must be at least one minute in duration, but should not exceed 3 hours in duration. If you do not remain within these guidelines it will cause the following:
If your nap is shorter than 1 minute the nap will not record.
If your nap is longer than 3 hours it will overwrite your sleep details for the day.
NOTE: Naps cannot overlap the user's sleep window for the previous or current day.
Where Can I See My Nap Details?
When a nap is recorded, the details can be viewed on the watch or in your Garmin Connect™ account.
Scroll or swipe down from your watch face to your glances.
Select the Nap glance.
Select a Nap to view your details.
