Activity or Track Elevation on Outdoor Handhelds

The elevation plot for saved activities or tracks provides you with a profile of elevation changes over distance or time through the duration of the activity or track recording.

Accessing the Elevation Plot

The elevation plot for an activity or track can be accessed under Track Manager, Saved Tracks, or Recorded Activities, depending on the model of outdoor handheld being used.

  1. From the main menu, select Track Manager, Saved Tracks, or Recorded Activities.
  2. Select a saved track or activity.
  3. Select Elevation Plot, Profile, or Mountain Icon.

Below is a breakdown of what the elevation plot may look like for saved activities or tracks on outdoor handhelds. The examples below came from a GPSMAP® 67 handheld, but the features are similar on other outdoor handheld models.

Elevation Plot Data Fields

The top fields will indicate the recorded time and elevation for the selected point on the elevation plot.

Elevation Plot Point

Indicates the selected point on the elevation plot.

Use the arrow keys or Thumb Stick™ to select a point on the elevation plot, or on touchscreen models simply tap a point on the elevation plot.


Changing the Scale of the Profile

You can change the rise or run of the elevation plot by pressing the MENU button and selecting Adjust Zoom Ranges, or on touchscreen models tap  Plus Symbol and Minus Symbol to zoom in and out. Below is an example of adjusting the Y value of the elevation chart. Some models can only scale the x-axis.
