Smart Notifications on a Garmin dēzlCam or dēzl Device

Smart Notifications will display notifications from your Android or iPhone device on your Garmin automotive device so they can be read or heard safely without having to reach for your phone. The 25 most recent notifications from your phone will be stored on your Garmin device.

The phone must have the dēzl™ App installed to connect to the Garmin device and use this feature.


To Use this Feature with Apple iOS:

NOTE: No configuration is needed for Smart Notifications in the dēzl™ App for Apple iOS. The smart notifications sent to the Garmin device are configured in your iPhone’s settings iphone settings wheel  > Notifications.

 

Any notification enabled on your phone will be sent to the Garmin device.

1. Open the dēzl™ App on your phone and set your phone to Find Me/Discoverable mode

Refer to the owner's manual of the phone if you are not sure how to set it to Find Me/Discoverable mode.

2. Touch Settings from the Garmin device

3. Touch Wireless Networks.

4. Check the box next to Bluetooth if no checkmark is present

5. Open the  dēzl App and select Allow

 

 6. Accept the End User License Agreement and touch Next

7. Touch Agree

 

8. Scroll down and select your Garmin dēzl model from the list

 

9. Touch Find Garmin Device

 

10. Touch the name of the Garmin device from the list of compatible Bluetooth devices in the area

 

11. Touch Yes on the Garmin device

12. Touch Pair on the phone

 

13. Follow the on-screen prompts in the app

14. Touch Sign In, if you don't have an account touch Create Account 

  • If you selected Create Account enter your name, email address, retype your email address, enter your password, then select Next

15. Enter your email and password and touch Next

16. Enter the security code sent to your email address or phone number then touch Next

  • Skip this step if the code is not requested

 

You will now be able to view or listen to notifications from your phone on your Garmin device.

 


To Use this Feature with Android:

1. Open the dēzl™ App on your phone and set your phone to Find Me/Discoverable mode

Refer to the owner's manual of your phone if you are not sure how to set it to Find Me/Discoverable mode.

2. Touch Settings from the Garmin device

3. Touch Wireless Networks

4. Check the box next to Bluetooth if no checkmark is present

5. Open the  dēzl App and touch Allow to allow the dezl app to send notifications

  • Touch Don't Allow to deny the dēzl App to send notifications to your phone

  

 6. Accept the End User License Agreement and touch Next

  

 7. Follow the on-screen prompts in the app

 8. Touch Garmin dēzl

 

9. The app will begin searching for the device

 

10. Touch Yes on the Garmin device

 

11. Touch Pair 

 

12. Follow the on-screen prompts in the app

13. Touch Sign In, if you don't have an account touch Create Account 

  • If you selected Create Account enter your name, email address, retype your email address, enter your password, then select Next

 

14. Enter your email and password and touch Next

15. Enter the security code sent to your email address or phone number then touch Next

  • Skip this step if the code is not requested

 


Enabling Smart Notifications within the dēzl™ App:

1. Open the dēzl™ App on your phone

2. Touch the gear icon to open settings

 

3. Touch Smart Notifications

 

4. Touch Set Notification Permissions

 

5. Touch Ok

 

6. Enable the dēzl™ App

7. Touch Allow

8. Touch the back arrow

9. Select which applications can send notifications to your device

You will now be able to view or listen to notifications from your phone on your Garmin device.
