Importing and Sending GPX Files onto a zūmo XT2 GPS Navigator

GPX files (saved locations, routes, tracks) can be transferred or synced to the zūmo® XT2 GPS navigator in a variety of ways. See the options and steps included below.

Importing and Syncing Files with Garmin Explore™

The Tread® App is the best option to wirelessly sync data with the zūmo XT2. Route creation is not a supported feature on the Garmin Explore website for the zumo XT2. If you prefer to use a computer with the Garmin Explore website and not the Tread app, it is required to first do the initial setup using the Tread app. Once the setup is completed, you can use the same account to sign into the Garmin Explore website. Information  added or deleted from the Garmin Explore account on the website or Tread app will be added or removed from the zūmo XT2 the next time it syncs. If your smartphone does not have an active internet connection, it will not be able to sync. See the Owner's Manual of your device for instructions to sync data from your device with your Garmin Explore Account.

See the detailed video below for more info on using Garmin Explore data with the zumo XT2.

Tread App:

See Syncing, Adding, and Deleting Garmin Explore Data on the zūmo XT2 GPS Navigator.

NOTE: When using the zūmo XT2, it is recommended to use the Tread app for creating and managing waypoints, routes, and tracks. If an internet connection to sync the data from the Tread app on your phone is not available, you can share the GPX file first to the Tread app and then send it directly to the zūmo XT2 as long as you are connected to the Tread app via Bluetooth.

NOTE: The Garmin Explore website can be used to manage waypoints and tracks, but does not support route creation for the zūmo XT2.
