Using the GroupRide Data Screen
While in a GroupRide, there will be a new data screen available showing messages and the rider list. The screen can be enabled or disabled in the activity profile settings. Refer to your owner's manual for customizing data screens for your Edge model.
NOTE: The Edge 540 Series will only offer messaging on this data screen. The rider list can be accessed in the GroupRide context menu by selecting the enter button.
Messaging
Your message will be visible to anyone who joins the GroupRide. On touchscreen Edges, tap the arrow or on the 540 series, hold the enter key to send a message. A list of predefined messages can be customized in the Garmin Connect App. If you are not currently on the GroupRide data screen, a notification will appear on the Edge screen. The messages can be dismissed, replied to, or muted.

Rider List
The rider list will show details for the 25 closest riders within 25 miles, which is refreshed every 15 seconds. If there are additional riders more than 25 miles away, there will be a "Show More" option with a simplified list of all group riders. The simplified list does not automatically refresh, it must be manually refreshed with the sync icon in the upper right.

Selecting any rider on the list will show their position on the map and follow their ride. This screen will follow the selected rider.
