MDR_TRIM Error in Garmin Applications
Description
The MDR TRIM error usually indicates that the maps installed are corrupted and unreadable.
Some of the Common Errors are:
- MDR TRIM MISC.CXX
- MDR TRIM SC.CXX
- MDR TRIM V2.CXX
- MDR TRIM FEAT.CXX
Resolution
To Resolve the Error, the Maps Would Have to be Reinstalled:
- Reinstall* - Sometimes a simple reinstall of the map(s) can resolve the issue.
- Uninstall / Reinstall* - If reinstalling does not work, there could be other corruption.
- Completely Uninstall / Run Error Checking / Reinstall* - If uninstalling and reinstalling fails, there could be corruption on the hard drive.
- Completely uninstall the Garmin Software from the computer.
- Run Error Checking on the hard drive - Run the error checking on the hard drive to fix errors on the drive. Make sure to select both options (Automatically fix file system error and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors).
- Windows Vista - Check your hard disk for errors
- Windows 7 - Check a drive for errors
- Reinstall the map(s).
The Garmin applications should no longer display the MDR TRIM errors once the maps are successfully installed.
* If reinstalling from a disc, check for scratches, fingerprints, smudges, etc., on the disc since they can prevent the maps from installing properly.
