Dim Screen on the FR60 or FR70
If the screen on the FR60/70 dims without giving you a low battery message, battery will soon needed to be changed. The dimming of the screen is normally noticed when the watch is scanning for a heart rate monitor or a foot pod. Also, another sign the battery is low is if the device resets on its own.
The FR60/70 will require a new CR2032 battery.
To replace the battery, Garmin recommends that you take your Garmin watch to a professional watch repair technician.
If you have the experience and the proper tools, you can replace the battery yourself by taking off the back cover plate and carefully removing the battery from the watch module. After inserting the new battery, make sure all contacts and insulators are put back in their original positions.
NOTE: Before replacing the battery, upload your workout history to your computer if you want to save it. Make a note of any custom settings as well. Replacing the battery resets the FR60/70 software and restores the factory settings. Workout data and custom settings are deleted.
