I Meet the Requirements. What Do I Do Next?
The three steps listed below need to be completed when first setting up the Spotify app with your watch. Once complete, you will only need to follow the third step when you want to load additional content to your watch. Select each section to expand and view instructions on completing each step:
Step 1: Download and Install the Spotify Connect IQ App
The Spotify app will now be installed onto your device. You are ready to move to Step 2.
Step 2: Set up the Spotify Connect IQ App
Press .
Select Music Controls.
Select Music Providers.
Select Spotify.
You will now be prompted to open the Garmin Connect app.
From the Garmin Connect app, you should see a Spotify login prompt.
Enter your Spotify login details and select LOG IN.
Review and agree to the terms by selecting AGREE.
Return to your watch and select Get Started.
Choose the option to Add music & podcasts.
From this point you will be able to choose saved Playlists, Recently played, Made for You, Workouts, or Podcasts. If you have not previously used Spotify for your music proceed to Step 3 to get some music set up to send to your watch.
Step 3: Selecting and Syncing Content to the Watch
The watch must be able to connect to your Wi-Fi network to download content from Spotify. Content available to sync to the watch will be listed under Your Library from your Spotify account. This includes:
Playlists: Saved or created playlists
Recently Played: A list of tracks that you have recently played
Made for you: New Music and Daily Mixes based on your listening habits
Podcasts: Saved podcasts
If Downloading Music for the First Time
Press and select Music Controls.
Select Music Providers.
Select Spotify.
Select Add music & podcasts.
Choose a category then choose the content you want to sync to your watch.
If You Have Already Downloaded Music on the Watch
Press and select Music Controls.
Select Music Providers.
Select Spotify.
Select Library icon .
Select Add music & podcasts.
At this point, the watch will attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network to sync music. Syncing music will require a lot of battery power so we recommend plugging the watch into a charger near the Wi-Fi router for the best results.
