Scoring methods available on the Approach S3, S4, S5, and S6

The Approach® S3, S4, S5, and S6 golf watches allow you to use two different scoring methods: Stroke Play and Stableford. The default scoring method is Stroke Play. To change the method of scoring:

  1. Go to menu
  2. Touch Setup
  3. Touch Scoring
  4. Select the preferred method

The Approach watch will now score with the selected method. Below are the descriptions for the two scoring method.

Stroke Play
Counts the number of strokes a player takes in a round of golf. The winner is determined by the player with the fewest strokes.

Stableford
Player receives points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole relative to par. The winner is determined by the player with the highest points. The point system for Stableford is:

  • 2 or more over par - 0 points
  • 1 over par - 1 point
  • Par - 2 points
  • 1 under par - 3 points

The Approach S3, S4, S5, and S6 watches can record the score for both methods, which can be viewed on the computer.
