Troubleshooting Pairing With the Approach R10

The Approach® R10 launch monitor pairs with the Garmin Golf™ app to display and store recorded data. Out of the box, the Approach R10 should automatically be in the pairing mode (solid blue LED) when you power it on. This allows the phone and Garmin Golf app to recognize the Approach R10 during setup. There may be some instances where the launch monitor will not be recognized in the pairing process.

My Approach R10 Will Not Pair Out of the Box

If the Approach R10 has been used before, it will not be in the pairing mode when you first power it on. It would typically show the flashing blue or white LED if that is the case. You will need to put it in the pairing mode manually.
  1. If powered on, power off the Approach R10.

  2. Hold the button while the Approach is off until the status LED turns solid blue to manually enter pairing mode.

  3. In the Garmin Golf app, select Profile.

  4. Select My Devices.

  5. Select Add Device.

  6. Follow on-screen instructions.

My Approach R10 Is in the Pairing Mode but Is Not Recognized

If the Approach R10 is not being recognized when in pairing mode, or displays the error We're having a problem talking to the Garmin Connect™ server. Try again, the following steps can help.
  1. Power off or disable Bluetooth on other nearby mobile devices. If it is already paired to another device and actively connected, it will not be recognized by the second mobile device.

  2. Power off the Approach R10.

  3. If the Approach R10 is already paired in the Garmin Golf app and/or phone's Bluetooth settings, remove it. For instructions, see - null.

  4. Uninstall and reinstall the Garmin Golf app.

  5. In the Garmin Golf app, select Profile.

  6. Select My Devices.

  7. Select Add Device.

  8. Follow on-screen instructions.

If the search still does not find the Approach R10, try these steps.

  1. With the Approach R10 powered on, press and hold the button. Continue holding the button while the Approach device powers off and on. This will take about 15-20 seconds.

  2. Once the light goes solid blue, let go of the button.

  3. Start the search again on the Garmin Golf app. The Approach R10 will typically be seen within a few seconds.

  4. If it still fails to be recognized, repeat the process.
