BC 40 Battery Low or Depleted Indicator and Alerts
A Garmin device paired with the BC 40 will display battery notification messages when the battery is low.
- The approximate battery life span is 2 to 3 months with average use.
- These notifications may also display during cold weather. See The camera does not work well in cold weather
Factors Affecting Battery Life Include:
- Cold weather
- The particular device used with the BC 40
- The type of batteries used
- The video resolution settings. See BC 40 Video Resolution Settings
Examples of Low Battery Notifications:
#1 - When the BC40 and device are trying to connect. "Cannot connect to camera. Check or replace the camera batteries and reconnect."
#2 - Low battery alerts will be shown in the notification bar on top of the View Map page.
- Tap on the Camera Low Battery notification bar to see details about the alert.
- Details of the Camera Low Battery notification. "Camera battery charge is low. Replace or charge batteries soon."
#3 - Low battery alerts with blinking icon will be shown on the video display screen (top right), associated with the camera currently displayed.
#4 - If the battery is depleted or too low to show video, a message will show. "Camera batteries are depleted. Replace the batteries to use the device and display video."
