How to Locate the Serial Number or Unit ID on a VIRB Action Camera

Every VIRB® Action Camera will have a unique serial number and unit ID number to identify it. The serial number is a combination of 8 to 9 letters or numbers, without spaces or dashes, externally printed on the device.

The location of the serial number will be under the battery door or inside the battery compartment. See the Owner's Manual for instructions to access the battery compartment.

Check the Following Possible Locations:

Under the battery door:

Inside the Battery Compartment (You may have to remove the microSD card and battery to see the serial number):

On the Original Box:

The Unit ID is a 10 digit number found internally when viewing the system information on the device. This can typically be found in the System Settings or Setup Menu on the About screen. See the Owner's Manual for instructions to access the About screen.
